Benartex – The Fabric of Creativity

Let’s talk about Benartex!

First of all, we’re excited to be part of this Shop Hop and we hope that you will enjoy the fabrics that we designed exclusively for this event!

Benartex hails out of New York City, our headquarters are located in the historic Garment District just behind Macy’s flagship store. Design, production, sales, marketing and customer service operate from here. Our warehouse -also known as Elmwood to the Benartex family, is a few miles north in Cranston (RI). It sprawls over 62,180 sq. feet, and even for the most seasoned fabric professional, it’s always a dazzling experience to wander around those corridors whose walls are shelves and shelves of fabric bolts! Elmwood is the hub of our distribution network and also where we cut all our handy fabric precuts and assemble them in conveniently packages ready for shipping and display.

One of the most exciting aspects of our company is the wide variety of styles we offer. Each year Benartex produces well over 100 original collections for a total of over 2,000 new prints! While each and every collection is unique, they can be grouped together by their similarities. As we revamped the Benartex logo la few years ago, we have created eight individual divisions, or studios, to better categorize and organize our fabric offerings.

The company’s various studios each bring a unique flavor to our portfolio.

Benartex Artistry is a hub of imagination, showcasing one-of-a-kind artwork and partnerships with renowned artists from around the globe.

Kanvas stands out for its exquisite textile design capabilities; whether it’s luscious florals, inspiring patriotic motifs or adorable youth prints, our Kanvas designers always deliver new amazing fabric designs.

The Contempo division is the go-to source for modern, whimsical designs; while for those who appreciate classic styles, the Traditions brand offers beautiful prints with a timeless appeal.

For aficionados of authentic Indonesian batiks, the Triple Dyed Balis division features fabrics that are unparalleled in their quality and range of hues. The Comfort Flannel brand includes a variety of designs, from charming baby motifs to outdoorsy themes, all with the same softness and durability.

The ever-growing Better Basics line offers a spectrum of colors, textures, and subtle patterns designed to add depth and interest to any project. These fabrics are versatile and can be coordinated with Benartex’s print collections, making them a staple for both quilters and crafters. Lastly, the Quilt Backs collection boasts an extensive selection of 108″ wide fabrics, featuring over 270 original designs. This division features florals, textures, solids, and designer coordinates, ensuring that there’s a perfect match for every quilt top.

Finally, in early 2024 Benartex has launched Project X a division tasked to explore new trends, discover new talents and push the boundaries of creativity.

However the search for new talent and creativity is not limited to Project X. In 2024 Benartex has introduced 12 new designers launched this year include Mary Fons, Rachel Rossi, Tina Givens and Lisa Ruble.

Wherever your imagination is taking you, Benartex is there to provide the quality and variety of fabrics that bring your vision to life. We look forward to seeing what you create with Benartex
